Friday I saw the ENT doctor. I'd seen him four years ago after several months of continuous headaches, and numerous diagnostic tests (I can confirm I do have a brain - I've seen pictures). The headaches started back up slowly over the last six months. Many times I put them down to stress - job, economy, remodel; but in reality they are very similar to the last series. Last time, the ENT guy figured out I had a cyst in the sphenoid sinus, which was pressing on a blood vessel, causing the headaches. He resolved it with some drugs, and a CAT scan showed it had disappeared. I suspect it's back; and he tells me the drug he used before has been removed from the market (I didn't want to ask him why...) so I'm not sure what options I'll have this time around if the cyst is back. Anyway, it felt good to be doing something about the headaches. After a course of steroids, I'll be getting a CAT scan so that he can see what is going on.

On the remodel front this weekend, I went out Saturday morning and purchased a whole bunch of metal shelving/closet organizers for the ante-room and the new hallway closet. Today was closet installation day. I had to make one extra run to Lowes, because I had managed to forget that you need a shelf bracket at EACH end of the shelf. Six shelves, and six brackets, was just not going to work!

The shelves went up really easily - they are similar to ones we've used in other closets around the house, so I was familiar with the installation. And then I got to do one of my favorite things - organize closet space! This always results in a healthy pile of stuff going into the trash, the 'garage sale' pile, and the 'Ark' pile ( a charity that comes round regularly collecting clothes and household items).

I now have all the linens in one place, with sets of items carefully collated; all the towels carefully organized and refolded (by type and color of course); and all the bits and pieces for the two vacuums in one place. (Bill has a Kirby he got somewhere with every conceivable attachment. I think it's over a hundred years old. I reckon it originally had a hand crank but they added a motor at some point). The Kirby is Bill's favorite, because it seems to perform much better than our one year old Orek. (Oreks it turns out don't come with any attachments; and there is nowhere to stick one if you had one. The Orek was my mistake).

We also fixed the bedroom door, which was dragging on the new carpet. My trusty plane made short work of that - even if we did have to put the door up and take it down three times before it was right!

To round off the day, I took a nice relaxing soak in the new Jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom; we just traded places, so Bill is now enjoying the bubbles. Sadly, it's too small for both of us at the same time!
