When you live through history, it's difficult to detect the changes. Sometimes (often) if you are progressive in your views, it feels like change is simply not happening. Well, this ad (which unfortunately was banned in the USA) nonetheless tells me that we are moving in the right direction. I was reminded earlier today that I was 15 when the UK finally repealed the sexual offenses acts that made being gay punishable by imprisonment. We'd all like to get there faster, but we are moving in the right direction.

(Sigh... It seems this YouTube clip has been marked as 'adult content' by some idiot... you may have to sign in at YouTube to view the clip).

This wasn't "banned in the USA." No agency has the power to do that. It's part of a series of Internet-only ads for Jawbone's Bluetooth headsets. They were never aired on television in the first place, let alone banned.

The ads are no longer on Jawbone's website, but here's a YouTube playlist that has them all.

Well, there are many ads that have been refused by network TV for airing, so I'd argue on that point, but I stand corrected on this one - I did search some to determine if this was the case, and didn't find the info. The google-force is with you! Regardless, it's heartwarming to see.

If all commercials were like that I'd stop skipping them on Tivo!
