I'm 60 - now what?
Jan. 3rd, 2012 10:08 amYesterday was my 60th birthday. Completed 60 revolutions around the sun. It started very pleasantly, with gift unwrapping - a lovely teapot in the shape of the Old Vic pub from my brother and sister-in-law, and several nice gifts from Bill, including a gift certificate for a local spa. And that was it, really.
The rest of the day was taken up with paperwork and grocery shopping, while Bill rotated his SUV tires. He had to call for square dancing in the evening, so we didn't go out - I re-heated some meat loaf for my birthday meal. After Bill left for square dancing, I thought about going to Sidewinders bar for a birthday drink, but on the way decided I didn't want to sit in a bar on my own, so I just took a nice drive around town instead; then I got caught in some kind of drama by the bus station, with six police cars and a fire truck! Took a while to get through that mess. Back home and in bed by 10.
Who says life doesn't begin at 60? :)
