In the spirit of Christmas...

I felt a reading or two was in order. I'm currently re-reading Non Campus Mentis, compiled by Prof. Anders Henriksson. Over several decades, and with much help from colleagues around the US and Canada, he collected a wonderful selection of snippets from college papers that capture a unique view of world history. He swears all the entries are the work of the students, though he has organized and amalgamated some of the content to make sense of an otherwise complex and confusing area of study. I start with a couple of quotes from Chapter 3: The Mists of Aniquity. All the unique phrasing and spelling presented by the students is preserved here:
The history of the Jewish people begins with Abraham, Issac, and their twelve children. Judyism was the first monolithic religion. It had one big God named "Yahoo". Old Testament profits include Moses, Amy, and Confusius, who believed in Fidel Piety. (One of the only reasons Confucius was born was because of a Chinese tradition.)
David was a fictional character in the Bible who fought the Gilgamesh while wearing a sling. He pleased the people and saved them from attacks by the Philipines.
Joan of Ark was famous as Noah's wife.
Moses was told by Jesus Christ to lead the people ouf of Egypt in the Sahaira Desert. The Book of Exodus describes this trip and the amazing things that happened on it, including the Ten Commandments, various special effects, and the building of the Suez Canal. Forty centuries later they arrived in Canada.
The book is still available at Amazon for $11 - well worth the money!
